The Story Behind Harry & Myrtle
Harry & Myrtle began their journey back in 2013, during the second year of my Design degree at university. At the time, I was exploring a children’s clothing brand that asked a simple but powerful question: how much of who we are is nature, and how much is nurture?
Living in a small village surrounded by mountains, raising my 18-month-old baby, and running my salon — which I had already been doing for over 12 years — I found myself deeply inspired by childhood, identity, and the environments that shape us.
My final-year dissertation was entirely based around this brand concept and the vision I had for bringing Harry & Myrtle to life. Although the idea has evolved and grown over the years, it has always been rooted in that blend of creativity, curiosity, and care.
In 2022, I wrote a children’s book called “Harry & Myrtle: The Hoverfly Lagoon.” It took time — and courage — to feel ready to share it with the world, but now it sits proudly as part of the Harry & Myrtle universe.
